English and Pathways for Healthcare Professionals

The next English and Pathways for Healthcare Professionals program will begin in January 2019.  Registrations are currently being accepted.  Once class has begun, no new participants will be admitted. 


Were you trained as a doctor, nurse, pharmacist, physical therapist, dentist, lab technician or other healthcare professional before you came to the U.S.?

Do you want to work in a healthcare career but need assistance improving your English and learning about the U.S. healthcare system and career opportunities?

A TEACHER AND CAREER COUNSELOR WILL HELP YOU:

• Improve knowledge of the U.S. healthcare system

• Learn everyday medical terminology and work-related English
• Access a free, online medical terminology course
• Learn about fast-growing jobs in the U.S. healthcare system
• Develop a career pathway based on your interest and experience
• Learn about healthcare programs in Northeast Ohio
• Receive Basic Life Support (BLS) training and certification
• Receive evaluation information about foreign credential verification and evaluation

1) Have high-intermediate level English skills 2) Have basic computer skills & e-mail address 3) Complete a telephone interview 4) Complete a listening & speaking assessment 5) Complete a reading & writing assessment

Saturdays, January 12 - May 11, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Lutheran Hospital (a Cleveland Clinic Hospital) 1730 W. 25th St. Cleveland, OH 44113
